9-29-12: Pet diabetes
Our September 29 th show discussed diabetes in dogs and cats. Diabetes is a common disease in older dogs and cats and, unfortunately, often a daunting and challenging diagnosis for most owners. Lifelong insulin injections, special food, and the development of secondary cataracts are some of the associated problems that can make this disease difficult to manage. Our expert guest was Dr. Daniel Foy from Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Foy gave us some great information about how to make this disease more manageable and help affected pets live a fulfilling life.
