10-27-12: Eye Conditions
The October 27th show discussed two common eye conditions that affect dogs and cats— dry eye and glaucoma. Dry eye is a condition that causes a dog or cat not to produce a normal amount of tears. It can be a frustrating and lifelong disease to treat. Glaucoma is a sudden increase of pressure in the eye that is a painful and emergency condition. It is a genetic disease that can potentially progress to loss of vision or surgical removal of the eye. Our expert guest was veterinary ophthalmologist Neal Wasserman from Eye Care for Animals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
